Terms & Conditions

Last updated 24 August 2026

These terms govern the sale of SkyTap atmospheric water generators and related services by SkyTap (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2026/640234/07 ("SkyTap", "we", "us"), to you, the customer. By placing an order you accept these terms.

Nothing here takes away your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008. Where any term below conflicts with a right the Act gives you as a consumer, the Act wins and that term does not apply to you.

1. What you are buying

SkyTap units are sold outright. This is a purchase, not a rental, lease, subscription or rent-to-own arrangement. There is no minimum term and no obligation to return the unit at any point.

Full ownership of the unit passes to you once we have received payment in full. Until then the unit remains our property. Risk of loss or damage passes to you on delivery.

2. Quotations and pricing

3. Orders and payment

An order is confirmed once you accept a quotation in writing and pay the deposit stated on it. The balance is payable as set out on your quotation.

We may decline or cancel an order before delivery — for example if a unit becomes unavailable, or if a price was published in error. If we do, we refund everything you have paid us for that order, in full, and we owe you nothing further.

4. Delivery

We deliver to the address on your quotation. We handle freight, import duties and customs clearance. You do not need to collect anything or deal with customs yourself.

We confirm your delivery timeline with you directly once your order is placed. Delivery timelines are estimates, not guarantees — units are imported, and shipping schedules, customs processing and regulatory clearance are outside our control. We will keep you informed of any change and you may cancel for a full refund if a delay becomes unacceptable to you.

Someone must be available to receive the unit at the delivery address. Where an estate, building or complex restricts access, you are responsible for arranging that access. If delivery fails because nobody is available or access was not arranged, we may charge the actual cost of re-delivery.

5. Water output

Rated output figures are the manufacturer's tested numbers, measured at 30°C and 80% relative humidity. These are not a guarantee of what your unit will produce in your environment. Actual daily production varies with temperature, humidity, airflow and where the unit is placed. In drier conditions output drops, which is why every unit can also purify water from an external supply.

We publish the tested figures at multiple humidity levels so you can judge this before you buy. If you tell us your location and conditions, we will give you our honest view of what to expect.

6. Warranty

SkyTap units carry a two-year warranty on core components, including the compressor, from the date of delivery. If a covered component fails in normal use within that period we will repair or replace it at no charge to you, including the cost of getting the unit to and from us.

The warranty does not cover

This warranty is in addition to, and does not replace, the implied warranty of quality under section 56 of the Consumer Protection Act.

7. SkyTap Care

SkyTap Care is an optional monthly maintenance plan at R299 per machine per month. It is separate from your purchase — you own the unit either way, and you can buy a unit without it.

Included

Not included

SkyTap Care runs month to month. You may cancel it at any time with 30 days' written notice, and cancelling it has no effect whatsoever on your ownership of the unit or on your two-year warranty. We may adjust the monthly fee on 30 days' written notice to you.

8. Cancellation, returns and refunds

Where you order without having seen the unit in person, the Consumer Protection Act gives you the right to cancel within 7 days of delivery and return the unit for a refund. The unit must be returned complete and in a condition that allows resale. We may charge a reasonable handling or restocking amount as permitted by the Act, and we will tell you that amount before you commit to the return.

You may cancel a confirmed order before it ships. We refund what you have paid, less any costs we have already incurred and cannot recover — we will itemise these for you.

If a unit is faulty on arrival or fails within six months in normal use, section 56 of the Act gives you the choice of a repair, a replacement or a refund. That choice is yours, not ours.

9. Installation and use

SkyTap units are floor-standing and plug into a standard South African socket. No plumbing or installation is required in atmospheric mode. You are responsible for placing the unit on a level surface in a suitable indoor environment with adequate airflow, and for operating it in line with the product manual.

10. Insurance

Once your unit is delivered, we recommend adding it to your home or business contents insurance. Contents insurance covers theft, power surges, flooding and accidental damage — none of which any manufacturer warranty covers. We do not provide insurance and are not an insurance intermediary.

11. Liability

We are liable to you for loss or damage we cause through our own fault, to the extent the law requires. To the maximum extent the law permits, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — for example lost profits or business interruption — and our total liability arising from any order is limited to the amount you paid us for that order.

Nothing in this clause limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

12. Regulatory compliance

Electrical products of this type fall under compulsory specification VC 8055 administered by the National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications (NRCS). We are responsible for holding the required approvals for the units we import and sell.
